My First Call
Associate Pastor at Southminster Presbyterian Church
I am thrilled to announce that I have been called to serve as the Associate Pastor at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton, Ohio. I never imagined that I would move to the Midwest (and a 2020 swing state, at that!) but God works in mysterious ways!
I am serving as a general Associate, directing the youth program, supervising children’s ministry, and leading church-wide Christian Education. I will also be preaching monthly and have the flexibility to work on the issues I care deeply about like interfaith and ecumenical relationship building and political advocacy. I started in mid-August and am slowly getting my feet underneath me.
Ordination and Installation Services
I will be having two services— an Ordination service in Seattle, Washington and an Installation service at my new church in Dayton, Ohio. Newly ordained clergy sometimes combine these two services, but it has always been important to me to be ordained by the community that first helped me discern my call as a pastor. I look forward to celebrating with both communities that have called me to ministry in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

About: This service is about my calling to this specific congregation and becoming a member of the Miami Valley Presbytery.
When my friends and loved ones get married, I love buying things off their registry to get them settled in their new life together. However, I’ve always thought it’s a bit unfair that people only have registries for weddings. Single people go through major life transitions and need things to get settled in their adult lives, but it’s still uncommon to have registries. I decided to be the change I want to see in the world and have a registry for my graduation and ordination.
My registry has things I’ll need in ministry as well as things to furnish my new home. I bought my first house in Dayton (!) and am a bit daunted at the prospect of filling a home. If you’d like to celebrate this season of my life through gifts, you can do so here.
The best way to celebrate my ordination is with your presence and your words. However, if you would also like to celebrate this new season of my life with a physical gift, you are welcome to do so. It is by no means like a wedding where it’s expected to give a gift, but if you would like to, these are some household needs that I have as I start my new life in Ohio.
If you’d like to send me anything to my new home (I love snail mail!), please email or message me for my address.
